Food has always been central to my life.  My favorite memories from growing up revolve around Sunday dinners at grandma's house.  Without fail, my grandma cooked dinner every Sunday for her 7 kids, their spouses, and all 16 grandchildren.  My family always had fantastic food at all gatherings, parties, and celebrations.

I learned the basics of cooking sitting on the yellow stool in my grandma's kitchen helping her.  My mom and aunt, both excellent cooks, taught me the family recipes as I grew up. Even after I moved away, I carried on my family's traditions and have prepared my own version of Sunday dinners for my friends for years.

After encouragement from several family members and friends, I decided to pursue my passion for cooking by completing the 20 week Culinary Techniques course at L'Academie de Cuisine in Gaithersburg.  From the first class, I was completely hooked on learning as much as I could.  After passing the class, I decided to assist Chef Patrice Olivon (former Executive Chef at the French Embassay and chef at the White House) for the next three semesters.  I also started assisting cooking classes at Sur La Table cooking school in Pentagon City.  You can never learn too much about the different ways to prepare food.

I decided to launch Angelina's Cuisine for one simple reason, my joy of cooking for people.  Some are amazed at the amount of time and energy I put into preparing a meal, but I think truly good food comes from all the heart you put into preparing it.  It is always worth the hard work when your guests enjoy your food.

I know there are plenty of people that enjoy food, but don't have the time or energy to cook.  This is where Angelina's Cuisine comes in; I will do the hard work for you so you can enjoy your meal or your party.

For those who want to learn to cook, I am happy to pass on what I have learned.  The joy of cooking should definitely be shared and I love teaching all skill levels.
